🎓 1-Week Technical Skills Course for the ADC Practical Examination

📘 Course Overview

This 5-day course covers the first week of our Technical Skills programme: the core preparation and restoration tasks of the Technical Skills Day of the Australian Dental Council (ADC) Practical Examination. Each task is demonstrated step-by-step, then practised under supervision with individual feedback.

It suits candidates who want a focused start, and those returning to typodont work who need the fundamentals shown again before committing to a longer course. You can extend into week 2 at any point.

🗓️ Weekly Schedule

Week 1 — Monday to Friday

• 👑 Crown preparation (anterior PFM)
• 🦷 Composite restoration (posterior)
• 🔧 Provisional crown restoration

Optional — continue into Week 2

• 🎯 Caries and endodontic access preparation
• ⏱️ Practice across all tasks with a mock, using your own materials

Week 2 is a $1800 top-up, bringing you to $4799 — the same as booking the 2-week course outright, so deciding later costs you nothing extra. Tell us when you book, or email info@lavanika.academy to add it later.

• Candidates who have trained elsewhere and want the fundamentals shown to ADC marking criteria

🧪 Provided Demonstration Tasks

Each task begins with a live, step-by-step demonstration. After the demo you perform the task, receive mentor feedback, and work on the specific improvements identified. Demonstrated tasks are:

• 👑 Crown Preparation (anterior PFM)
• 🦷 Resin Composite Restoration (posterior tooth)
• 🔧 Provisional Crown Restoration

And,

• ✅ Apply the ADC marking criteria (checklists + global ratings) for high success including Infection Control

Caries and endodontic access preparation are demonstrated in week 2. Composite restoration (anterior) and crown preparation (posterior PFM) are demonstrated on the 2.5-week course.

🏫 Course Delivery Format

• 📅 Duration: 5 days, Monday to Friday
• ⏰ Sessions: Live onsite each day from 9:30 am

  • Morning: Instructor demo
  • Afternoon: Hands-on practice under supervision
  • Evening: Individualised feedback & improvement plan
• 🔁 Small batch size (less than 6 candidates) for personalised feedback
